The highlight of the HOCHTIEF series: In cooperation with Märklin in May 2004, Herpa will release HOCHTIEF construction site train HOCHTIEF is Germany’s largest construction company, and one the market leaders on an international scale. Germany’s railroad company Deutsche Bahn AG contracted HOCHTIEF in 1998 to build the new ICE train connection between Nuremberg and Ingolstadt. The company already did its share the recently opened new ICE train connection between Cologne and Frankfurt, including twelve bridges and fourteen tunnels. The construction site train made by Märklin and Herpa is inspired just those works for Germany’s national railway company. Herpa offers a special highlight for all HOCHTIEF collectors. The top-class train set will contain the following items: A diesel-hydraulic multi-purpose locomotive (class 212) sporting the HOCHTIEF design, in the high-quality digital version. A covered freight wagon (workshop / material wagon) with the HOCHTIEF design. A heavy-duty flat car with a Liebherr mobile crane LTM 1045/1. A heavy-duty flat car with a Liebherr crawler excavator R954B Litronic.
