In 1967, Texas-based Braniff International revolutionized commercial aviation with its radical new color scheme – or rather, color schemes. After the Braniff lettering on the fuselage of the originally introduced dark blue was barely legible in low light conditions, the color was lightened somewhat and officially introduced in 1967 as "Solid New Dark Blue". Compared to the many bold colors on other Braniff aircraft, the "New Dark Blue" was deemed somewhat too "subtle" and was only used on ten aircraft, including this 727-200. Herpa SnapFit models shine with an unbeatable value for money. They come with a display stand and can be assembled in a few simple steps without glue or other tools.
