In 2003, Boeing celebrates the hundredth anniversary of the first motorized flight by theWright brothers with a special series of models. Herpa is one of the exclusive manufacturersof the Milestones Series. The first model of the series is a Douglas DC-3 with the registrationNC30000. It was the prototype for this veritable aviation classic, which was built in 1934 asa Douglas Skysleeper Transport. With fourteen built-in sleeping berths, its comfort and poweroutperformed every other plane on the aviation market at the time.
