Right after being rolled off the assembly line in 1968, this third pre-production C-160 was given a temporary civil registration and Swiss crew, and borrowed to the International Red Cross for humanitarian aid flights into the civil war-strucken Biafra region in Nigeria. The aircraft flew a total of 198 missions in four months before being returned back to Germany in spring 1969.
