The Ilyushin IL-62 was the first long-range jetliner built in the Soviet Union. Originally introduced 1967, CCCP-86700 belonged to the improved M-variant delivered from 1972, wearing this livery variation only applied to the IL-62M. It was only late in the 1970’s that the color scheme was harmonized across the huge fleet.il
