The Boeing 737-300 is one of the world's most popular airplanes. More than a hundred airlines operate the short and medium haul airliner with its efficient and reliable CFM-56 engines. This model with the registration N232DZ was built in 1988 for Germania, and has been used by Delta Air Lines since 1998 – just like twenty-six similar -300 planes, most of which were formerly operated by Western Airlines, which was taken over by Delta in 1987._x000D__x000D_Delta Air Lines Inc., founded in 1924 in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the world's oldest airlines. With 117 million passengers each year, it can proudly boast the world's highest passenger figures. In 1991, Delta took over shares of the finally bankrupt Pan Am. And its growth continues: in June 2000, Delta, Air France, Korean Air, and Aeromexico founded the Sky Team alliance._x000D__x000D_The Herpa Premium Edition II model of the Delta Boeing 737-300 will come out in the same livery as the Delta 727-200 of Edition I: a livery which today is quite a rare sight. Introduced only in 1997, after some forty years of unchanged Delta aircraft colors, it is being replaced by yet another new corporate livery.
