The German charter airline Aero Lloyd would have turned 40 in 2020. Founded in 1980 in the Hessian city of Oberursel, the airline closed its doors in 2003. Even a revival as Aero Flight afterwards remained short-lived. The orange and red stripes first introduced on the DC-9 remained the visual feature of the airline for several years and is still widely remembered through to today.
