Japan Asia Airways, founded in 1975 as a subsidiary of Japan Airlines, and taken over in 2003 after eighteen years of independence, has asked Herpa to produce a limited edition of 2,200 models of its Boeing 747-200 with the registration JA8130. The model carries the same logo as the original: "Yokoso! Japan". "Yokoso" means "welcome", and the idea behind it was a campaign aimed at tourists highlighting what great hosts the Japanese people are. The edition is produced exclusively for JAL's head office.
